Rejected WEATHER

Hi all!
I will suggest a very complex thing.
I think weather in game would be a really good idea.Everyone should add their location in the settings , and there would be the same weather in his village , and out of his window too.
To make it more complex i suggest night mode/morning/evening effects based on your time from wich country you are.At to make it even more amazing, there would be nice that the weathers sometimes would have extra effects: ex. a lightning struck a biulding or a part of the wall, or because of rain something was flooded.Call me anything you want, but i think this would be a good idea.

Sorry for my english, the matter is to understand my idea.

Kind regards,
DJBK

Yeah this would add a lot more athmosphere to the game :)

The idea in general is pretty good but i think it would be too complex, maybe simply just have days that are sunny, days that rain, clear night skies, raining at night instead of lighting destroying walls etc and linking it to the same weather in each country.

First of all night/day already exists and in some servers shows night protection. Secondly having the weather to affect the gameplay in such extent it would just ruin it. Just think.. Let's say I'm from England,London where as you may probably know it rains 90% of the time.. And my enemy lives in Greece.. Where sun is year-round.. Can you see the outcome? Also the game is already CPU intensive.. Adding such features would automatically exclude some people from playing it.

It's a cool idea to have a more interactive map. But the weather when checking your timezone is going to be very hard i'd say.

Good suggestion!

Yeah...but contruction times are gettin' longer and longer...troop movements are slow , at least you should take care of your village when natural disaster happens.or just simply watch how it's raining :))

Of course all of them are slow.. That's what beggining in a new TW server means... I don't think it be positive thing to enter weather interference.. Just a thought.

We will have a night and day cycle in the game, but rain and snow would be a new idea. Our game designer will take a look at the possibilities a system like this would have. Thank you for your suggestions.^^

I also like this Idea, although I think there are two concepts that don't go along well with each other, so it would have to be one of them, not both:
1. Local weather according to the players location
2. Weather that affects the game play
Mixing them together would create disadvantages for some players, so I would propose to either add local weather just because it looks good and makes for a good athmosphere, without gameplay effects, or add a global weather that affects the gameplay but does so for everyone in the same way.

I think the game is CPU intensive because it is beta and it sends data to the developers in the meantime, when i tested Forge of Empires my CPU was the same as it is now, but as the developers get enough data it would be more CPU friendly.

Thats good idea, weather could also impact on army (speed, efficiency).
