strg-click (or middle mouse button) on the links in the "welcome" panel (http://puu.sh/9GZnQ/66a481ff0d.jpg) opens the link in both a new window/tab and the current window/tab. There might be a javascript event listener attached to the links that opens the location when clicking, which breaks the default browser behaviour.

You might wanna include your browser seeing as i am not having this issue at the moment, it just opens in a new tab.

Press "Welcome, user" -> Use middle mouse button on "Messages"

It will open in both a new screen and screen you are in. (for me, Chrome)

Messages doesn't have that behavior, my profile however does.

Chrome 38.0.2065.0

Confirmed for profile and settings.
However, please do not use the Canary build (=nightly) of Chrome for testing other things, as that one can be highly unstable and screw up things by itself.

Works now, except when I have messages in my inbox and strg-click on messages, then the problem is still there.
