Minting Coins

I can't seem to understand the minting coins and getting noblemen. I have the academy but it wont allow me to mint coins. When I enter the academy, everything is at zero. It doesn't even tell me how many resources I need to mint one. I could really use some help.

The price of one coin is 28k/30k/25k. If you don't have enough recources the whole window is shaded in grey.

Click on the i in the circle next time you want to know something there is all kinds of useful information hidden in those links throughout the game not just in the academy.

Actully here its a box not a circle but you should be able to find it.
