I had the following situation: 3 buildings queued up: HQ, 2 res pits, predicted finish time circa 20 hours, so the minute HQ finished I was checking out the time, when it will all finish, again, but it remained at 20 hours, my point is that it should be updated just like the troops queue when you upgrade the barracks...
