how can i add friends?

hello
i played on the Original tribalwars game for several years, including world 1
but i stopped playing a few years ago
im trying to pick it up again but it doesnt look like how i used to know it
im trying to understand the game but i cant figure out how to add friends
could someone help me?

There are no friends list here. You can add contacts in the mail to make it easier to mail people that you talk to often but thats about it. The co-op mode isn't even active yet.
