Today we have applied the final building time changes on all Beta servers. First of all we'd like to thank you all for your feedback!
The Headquartes now have a new feature. Each HQ level will allow you to finish building upgrades in your queue 30 seconds before the upgrade is completed. So, on HQ level 30 you will be able to click 'Finish for free' 15 minutes before it is automatically completed!
While revisiting the building times again we have set a few new rules for our final changes, and these are as follows:
Whith this and your feedback in mind we have now come up with the final values you can read in all detail here. We have compared the final building times with previous Balancing Update II values as well as the original values based on Headquarters level 20, which back then decreased the building times significantly already (a feature which has been removed a while ago).
Headquarters
Nobody wants to wait too long to get new buildings unlocked. The main idea was to ease up game progression by making the Headquarters upgrade a lot faster than before these balance changes.

Tavern
The Tavern now takes a lot more time to build than before Balancing Update II. This is intended as the Tavern is a mid to late game component of the game. However, we agree with your feedback and think the original balance adjustments were a bit too much. The last building upgrade is now 24 hours, so we cut it by around 28% of the building time.

Hospital
The Hospital now takes significantly longer than prior the Balancing Update II. Essentially, the Hospital is a luxury building which can save you tons of resources and time by savong some of your units. Considering all these factors actually shows that the Hospital is well worth the wait!

Hall of Orders
The Hall of Orders hadn't been touched by the initial balance changes. It basically had the same raw building times as before Balancing Update II. Of course, these times are neither even nor do they fit our 'max 36 hours' rule. We have therefore evened out the numbers accordingly, but as this is a luxury building meant for end game scenarios, we have somewhat increased the building times compared to the HQ building time reduction from the past.

Chapel
The Chapel only has one building level and is also a unique building in the game. A construction order which took less than 15 seconds was always prone to cause trouble in the game's frontend, which is why we have increased it to 30 seconds instead now. With the new HQ feature, which will allow you to instantly finish it for free, this won't really alter the game experience for this building apart from one additional click.
Church
The Church is a whole different story. This was one of the most discussed buildings when it came to the latest balance changes. It takes significantly longer to upgrade compared to the old HQ building time reduction feature with an average HQ level of 20. However, we also felt the need to protect players from actions in the middle of the night, where players potentially could noble into a Province, build a Church and start conquering you villages before you woke up from a good night's sleep! With the instant build feature this is still possible, but players will need to invest Crowns for this.
But we do agree that the first level of the Church did take too long still, which is why we reduced it from 10 hours to 6 instead which we think is a fair compromise for both off and def players. The other two Church levels remain untouched as they are luxury upgrades.

Academy
This was a simple one for us when we revised the changes from Balancing Update II to come up with the final version of the new building times. We want players to go out and conquer new ground as soon as possible as this is the core mechanic of the game! No one wants to go through all the pain matching the building requirements for the Academy, gathering all the resources and then still have to wait almost a day for it to finish. This is why we reduced it to 10 hours instead.
Rally Point
With the new Rally Point feature in mind it just made sense to increase building times for the Rally Point.
The reason why we adjusted the last building upgrade here has to reasons: First, we wanted to provide the feeling of progression, so the building times for levels 4 and 5 can't be identical; second, the value of this building has increased quite a lot with the new functionality.

Resource Buildings
Although the Timber Camp, Clay Pit and Iron Mine had slightly different building times for various upgrade levels, we still feel that comparing them to the same numbers makes this list a lot less cluttered and way easier to read as the new times are identical for all resource buildings now anyway.
These buildings were also not following our 'max 30 hours' rule, so we adjusted it and the last building times are now on average very close to their original times compared to the HQ20 average.

Today we have applied the final building time changes on all Beta servers. First of all we'd like to thank you all for your feedback!
The Headquartes now have a new feature. Each HQ level will allow you to finish building upgrades in your queue 30 seconds before the upgrade is completed. So, on HQ level 30 you will be able to click 'Finish for free' 15 minutes before it is automatically completed!
While revisiting the building times again we have set a few new rules for our final changes, and these are as follows:
- Building upgrades should never take more than 36 hours in the normal upgrade range from levels 1 to 30.
- Early game building upgrades should not break the game flow of the first few game sessions. Players should not get stuck with a full building queue too early in the game.
- Building times should consist of even numbers which are easy to read.
- Successive building upgrades should always take longer than previous levels to allow the feeling of progression in the game.
Whith this and your feedback in mind we have now come up with the final values you can read in all detail here. We have compared the final building times with previous Balancing Update II values as well as the original values based on Headquarters level 20, which back then decreased the building times significantly already (a feature which has been removed a while ago).
Headquarters
Nobody wants to wait too long to get new buildings unlocked. The main idea was to ease up game progression by making the Headquarters upgrade a lot faster than before these balance changes.

The Tavern now takes a lot more time to build than before Balancing Update II. This is intended as the Tavern is a mid to late game component of the game. However, we agree with your feedback and think the original balance adjustments were a bit too much. The last building upgrade is now 24 hours, so we cut it by around 28% of the building time.

Hospital
The Hospital now takes significantly longer than prior the Balancing Update II. Essentially, the Hospital is a luxury building which can save you tons of resources and time by savong some of your units. Considering all these factors actually shows that the Hospital is well worth the wait!

Hall of Orders
The Hall of Orders hadn't been touched by the initial balance changes. It basically had the same raw building times as before Balancing Update II. Of course, these times are neither even nor do they fit our 'max 36 hours' rule. We have therefore evened out the numbers accordingly, but as this is a luxury building meant for end game scenarios, we have somewhat increased the building times compared to the HQ building time reduction from the past.

Chapel
The Chapel only has one building level and is also a unique building in the game. A construction order which took less than 15 seconds was always prone to cause trouble in the game's frontend, which is why we have increased it to 30 seconds instead now. With the new HQ feature, which will allow you to instantly finish it for free, this won't really alter the game experience for this building apart from one additional click.
Church
The Church is a whole different story. This was one of the most discussed buildings when it came to the latest balance changes. It takes significantly longer to upgrade compared to the old HQ building time reduction feature with an average HQ level of 20. However, we also felt the need to protect players from actions in the middle of the night, where players potentially could noble into a Province, build a Church and start conquering you villages before you woke up from a good night's sleep! With the instant build feature this is still possible, but players will need to invest Crowns for this.
But we do agree that the first level of the Church did take too long still, which is why we reduced it from 10 hours to 6 instead which we think is a fair compromise for both off and def players. The other two Church levels remain untouched as they are luxury upgrades.

Academy
This was a simple one for us when we revised the changes from Balancing Update II to come up with the final version of the new building times. We want players to go out and conquer new ground as soon as possible as this is the core mechanic of the game! No one wants to go through all the pain matching the building requirements for the Academy, gathering all the resources and then still have to wait almost a day for it to finish. This is why we reduced it to 10 hours instead.
Rally Point
With the new Rally Point feature in mind it just made sense to increase building times for the Rally Point.
The reason why we adjusted the last building upgrade here has to reasons: First, we wanted to provide the feeling of progression, so the building times for levels 4 and 5 can't be identical; second, the value of this building has increased quite a lot with the new functionality.

Although the Timber Camp, Clay Pit and Iron Mine had slightly different building times for various upgrade levels, we still feel that comparing them to the same numbers makes this list a lot less cluttered and way easier to read as the new times are identical for all resource buildings now anyway.
These buildings were also not following our 'max 30 hours' rule, so we adjusted it and the last building times are now on average very close to their original times compared to the HQ20 average.
