Is there an abandon village feature, ie a village that may not be as productive as you would like, to abandon it and make it a barbarian village, so that you can use the nobleman space to take a better placed village.

Unfortunately you can't abandon your own villages.

If you really don't like it than i suppose you could gift it off to a tribemate for their first village freeing you up to take another.

Yes, you can gift it by letting your tribe mate to noble it without a fight.
